Rattery Sawmill SW Ltd manufacture a variety of styles and sizes of field gate.

As a general rule our gates have 5 bars (horizontal rails – we call them lexes). However, we can make them with more or even less to meet your specific needs eg. keeping pets in or deer out.

We can make your gate to any required width and height. You also have the option of the gate(s) being made out of sawn or planed timber. We can supply galvanised metalwork fittings and fixtures in a number of designs to suit your needs.

All our gates are manufactured from Douglas Fir, which is grown locally in the South West or Wales. Douglas Fir is a very suitable wood for gates as it is subject to low shrinkage and has good stability. It is strong and elastic. The wood is also resistant against fungal and insect infestation and exhibits good natural durability when exposed to the elements.

We also treat all the wood used for making gates with Wolmanit CX-8F wood preservative, which is triple treated in our own on-site pressure treatment plant.
